Implant Surface Micro-fabrication and Characterization in Q-Switched Mode with ytterium-doped Fiber Laser

Abstract

Surface morphologies of titanium implants has crucial importance for long-term stability which following their placement. Different techniques of surface modifications were adopted to increase bone–implant interface. Today there is a great needing to develop new surface modification methods when the industrial competitive conditions. Laser surface structuring is a unique, promising, clean, non-contact and environment-friendly method. At the present study, pure titanium implant surfaces were modified at micro-scale with using a fiber laser which working on Q-switched mode and their characterizations were conducted.
