IMPLEMENTATION OF LEGISLATION ON PREVENTION AND COMBATING OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: AN OVERVIEW AND PERSPECTIVES

Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the new Law of Ukraine “On Prevention and Combating Domestic Violence”. The article analyzes changes in the definition of domestic violence types; characteristics are given to actors involved into domestic violence prevention and counteraction; the domestic violence preventive measures and responsibility for such violence are highlighted; particular attention is paid to the benefits of the new law.As a result of the research, it was concluded that the necessity and expediency of introducing amendments to the legislation of Ukraine on prevention and counter action to domestic violence would be done.Thus, the Law of Ukraine “On Prevention and Combating Domestic Violence” provides for a certain mechanism of interaction of subjects of counter action to domestic violence, but functioning quality and practical realization of it is still doubtful. It is extremely necessary to develop and implement appropriate mechanisms for ensuring effective interaction between the subjects of prevention and counteraction to domestic violence, in particular, it is necessary to adopt a number of by-law normative legal acts, in which the interaction details between actors, the algorithm of authorized actors actions; a form of documentation that is compiled in response to domestic violence cases.In addition, it is important that the specialists who take measures in the field of prevention and counteraction to domestic violence systematically receive appropriate professional training taking into account the gender aspects of the prevention and detection of such violence, aimed in particular at the destruction of gender stereotypes and the formation of zero tolerance to any manifestations of domestic violence.
