Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of the influence of electric and magnetic fields on living organisms. Immediate effects and those observed after some time were described. Immediate effects were divided by thermal effect and the induction of current in the human body. In addition, a detailed analysis of the possibility of illness caused by the electric or magnetic fields was shown. A comparison between values of the fields necessary for the appearance of negative effects, and values of fields generated by various devices, including electric power systems, was done as well.
