Influence of Simvastatin and Interleukin 1 Receptor Antagonist on Expression of Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptors Under Experimental Acute Ileitis
Journal Title: Гастроентерологія - Year 2015, Vol 1, Issue 55
Abstract
Aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) — transcription factor activated by a large number of environmental agents, and may play a role in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel diseases in humans and mouse models. We have investigated the possibility of using simvastatin and interleukin 1 receptor antagonist for pharmacological correction of acute ileitis in rats, with a focus on the studying intensity of AhR expression by lymphocytes of the small intestine. The AhR-immunopositive lymphocytes were determined by means of indirect immunofluorescence technique using monoclonal rat antibodies. We have established that development of ileitis was associated with changes in the amount of AhR+ lymphocytes and their density on immunopositive cells. Drug administration during the development of experimental pathology was accompanied by changes in the expression of AhR and their density on lymphocytes.
