Abstract
In Sanskriti Literature Allegorical Drama expresses a meaning which is symbolic. In most of the allegorical dramas there is a specific story or situation. Here the outword plot, characters and other dramatic elements are not so important, important is the inner meaning. The Sanskrit allegorical drama Prabodhchandradaya is undoubtedly the first remarkable drama that reflects the allegorical aspects. In Bengali literature we also find the influence of Prabodhchandrodaya in the dramas composed in the Pre-Rabindranath era.
