Information and communications security as a new challenge faced by Poland in 2007–2017

Abstract
The aim of the article is to present the challenges faced by Poland in developing its ICT security strategy. The author attempts to define ICT security and its scope and identify the threats to Poland over the last decade. Rapid technological progress quickly renders any approach obsolete. Therefore, a state wishing to provide its citizens with adequate protection is forced to adopt proper measures. In view of this goal, the author discusses the efforts made by the Polish government to achieve its strategic cyberspace security objectives. She demonstrates that the future ICT security of Poland depends largely on developing a single all-encompassing legislative instrument.
