The paper deals with the development of information-communication technologies in the teaching process. its first part presents the current situation of informatization in Slovakia, the second part is devoted to development of information competence of the undergraduate teacher training at University of Prešov and the last part presents the main features of educational resource „nature Science information Service“ and its possibilities of exploitation in Geography (homeland study) teaching
