Innovation cooperation of R&D enterprises in Malopolska region

Abstract
The article takes on the issue of innovative cooperation between industrial enterprises and other units. It describes the impact of cooperation on innovative activity. The study is based on the research which was conducted within 500 industrial companies in Malopolskie Voivodeship in 2010‒2012, which bare the expenditures on R&D activity. The methodological part of the research is based on the theory of probability. The research results in absolute values showed that suppliers, customers and the national R&D units are the entities with which industrial companies in the Malopolska region cooperate predominatingly when it comes to innovation projects. On the other hand, the probit modeling results showed a slightly different aspect of that cooperation. The study showed the differentiated impact of this collaboration on innovative activity of industrial enterprises. The research hypothesis has been positively verified. It turned out that the innovation cooperation does not always affect the implementation of the innovation process in a positive way, and the direction of this influence is varied.
