INNOVATIONS IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING BASED ON SYSTEMATIC APPROACH

Abstract

The aim of the article is to ground the expediency of using the innovative approaches and methods in the foreign language teaching from the systematic approach. The expediency of studying the prospects of modernization of foreign language teaching from the position of the systematic approach, taking into account the structure of language functions, student’s activity, and the foreign language education, are considered. The principles and prospects of application in the paradigm of innovation of lingvosociocultural, communicative, and activity approaches are analyzed. The methods that meet the principles and aims of every approach are characterized. It is outlined that the introduction of innovative approaches and methods in the foreign language teaching is a component of the integral concept of dynamic, “open”, and innovative education focused on the challenges of socio-cultural environment. It is proved that from the position of the systematic approach in the selection of innovative approaches and methods it is expedient to follow the criterion of coverage limit: functions of language as an studying object; transformative, cognitive, communicative, value directed activity of student; cognitive, developing, and educational levels; and cognitive, developing, and educational goals of the foreign language education. It is found that the most promising in modernization of the foreign language teaching is the lingvosociocultural approach that can integrate the principles of communicative and activity approaches. It is emphasized that the implementation of the principles of approach to the formation of lingvosociocultural competence is helped by the complex application of innovative interactive learning methods aimed at activation of cognitive, transformative, communicative activity of students: “method of competence-based tasks”, game situations (scenario method, simulation method, “brainstorm”, contests, quizzes, game-agony, creative game, cognitive game, etc.), “dipping method”, “community method”, “learning in cooperation”, project work, and others.
