INNOVATIVE APPROACHES IN THE EVALUATION OF THE IMPACT ON PERSONAL DATA

Abstract
The introduction of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and Council is one of the most significant changes in European legislation over the last two decades. Main- taining compliance with it is an important task for all data control- lers in the EU as well as for all third parties who have business relations with organizations based in the EU. The current trends in the use of various Internet-based devices and platforms require data controllers to change the way they work. Each of them must show a good degree of innovation and flexibility. An important part of the protection of personal data is given to the impact assessment on data security and the need for significant innovations in its implementa- tion. The problem with data controllers is that there is still insuffi- cient clarity about conducting a good impact assessment. This study shows key points of innovative approaches as well as systematiza- tion of the key steps by which organizations can carry out personal data impact assessments themselves.
