Innovative technologies of Business English teaching in agrarian universities

Abstract

The paper describes the concept of "innovative technologies." It is considered innovative technologies of teaching Business English at agricultural universities. Special attention is paid to such technologies as training, interactive learning, multimedia training, case-study, project method, the method of "Six Thinking Hats". Innovative training focuses on dynamic changes in the world, on training and educational activity based on the development of different thinking forms, creativity, high social and adaptive capacities of the individuals. Training study focuses on the practice, connected with the studied materials, and gives students an ability to develop and deepen the necessary knowledge and skills, to change their attitude to their own experience and used approaches. Interactive learning provides active forms of Business English studying instead of repeating information. Interactive technologies enrich students with the basic knowledge, skills and behavior patterns, which is crucial for the formation of individual competencies. They awaken interest, teach independent thinking and action making. Multimedia technologies help teachers provide information in a new and efficient way to make it more complete, interesting and close to the subject of studying. Also, multimedia technologies make reading and listening activities more vivid and interesting. Case method reflects not only a practical problem, but actualizes a certain set of knowledge that is essential to master a specific problem, and successfully combines academic, analytical and educational activities. "Six Thinking Hats" focuses on teaching people to manage their own thinking.
