Abstract

Energy security is a key issue not only for economic development but also for providing national security and sovereignty. Developing countries and those that achieved high economic level need to have a stable and reliable source of energy supply by ensuring the availability of energy resources produced in the country, but also the opportunity to purchase the resources from external suppliers. However, apart from energy security there is also an essential aspect of environmental safety, which is to reduce the negative effects of various sectors, including the energy sector on the environment. Poland, as a result of the adoption of EU directives, is obliged to develop government programs ensuring energy security, but taking into account the principles of sustainable development and ecology. Legal regulations adapted to EU legislation provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to use innovative energy solutions to power generation, especially renewable energy and its transmission, including wireless transmission of energy. Poland has to achieve in a timely manner assumptions provided by the so called climate and energy package
