INTEGRATING SOCIAL WORKER WITH THE PROFESSION

Journal Title: The Journal of International Social Research - Year 2017, Vol 10, Issue 48

Abstract

The concept of social work is an academic discipline and profession which had been valued scientifically in time and gained today’s definition in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The influence of the Great War is big on social work. In the post-war period, schools of social work were opened many countries, notably in the USA and England. Thus, the term social worker was emerged. There are a few professions as challenging as social work; however there are a few professions which can make a member of profession as proud and delighted as social work. Some scholars define the profession of social work as an art, and social worker as an artist. A social worker works on people and society by handling them from various perspectives just as an artist works hard on his/her art constantly with different perspectives. So, the focus of this study is on merging person with profession.
