Journal Title: Соціологічні студії - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 12

Abstract

All 26 years of Ukraine’s independence is the problem of consolidating Ukrainian society. As a result of the current conditions of external aggression and the occupation of territories, when society is in a state of political and spiritual imbalance, consolidation is a widespread condition for the existence of society. The study found that knowing the nature and characteristic of ethnic processes, the causes and consequences of their strengthening and weakening can help solve the problem of prediction and decision-making aimed at achieving and maintaining stability in Ukraine. It is argued that mutual understanding in interethnic communication is the result of a complex form of dialogue, which involves both the enrichment of national cultures and the preservation of their identity. It is noted that the problem of interaction of cultures raises the need to re-evaluate intercultural contacts and their own cultural identity on the basis of the ideas of intercultural tolerance and adequate perception of cultural differences. Cultural consolidation of society today means the process of association, uniting citizens and their participation in solving social problems. In the context of the processes of modernization of modern society, the deep transformation of modern culture, the problem of mutual understanding and interaction between representatives of different cultures became very important. After all, in a modern, extremely changing life, the strategy of consolidation as a means of achieving agreement on the basis of mutual concessions of representatives of opposing opinions, interests deserves constant attention and serves as one of the basic principles for ensuring its effective transformations. It is proved that cultural consolidation of society today means the process of unification and uniting of groups of citizens based on their advantages and a certain resource base in order to articulate their interests and participate in solving social problems.
