International legal regulation of insurance relationships in the EU

Abstract
The development of international relations and the world economy, processes of Ukraine’s entry and integration into the system of international economic relations cause a necessity to develop an insurance market taking into account the world experience and national features. Strengthening of integration processes at the international and regional levels requires a creation of a single legal framework for the purpose of improvement and consolidation of integra- tion processes in the future. Signing of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine, which regulations lay the stress on an approximation of parties in different fields on the basis of common values, including the strengthening of economic and trade relations for the purpose of Ukraine’s entry into the EU internal market, requires a research of trends of the integration of legal regula- tions of the EU member states. Thus, the purpose of the article is to reveal problems and prospects of development of ways of legislative regulation of insurance legal relations in the countries of the EU at the international level. The article considers a sphere of insurance law of the EU that is going through a difficult stage of its development. The formation of the European insurance law is analysed; the basic prin- ciples of the European law on insurance are clarified; the basic conflict of legal integration of the EU member states in the field of insurance are brought out.
