Introduction to the Special Section on State and Parameter Estimation Methods for Sensorless Drives
Journal Title: Power Electronics and Drives - Year 2018, Vol 2018, Issue 1
Abstract
This short article constitutes an introductory part the Special Section on State and Parameter Estimation Methods in Sensorless Drives. In the current issue of the journal the first part of this Section is published. Accepted articles are focused mainly on the state variables and parameters estimation for vector controlled induction motor drives, using different concepts, like different types of Kalman Filters (KFs) or Model Reference Adaptive Systems (MRASs). The Kalman filter was also proposed for Brushless DC Motor (BLDC). Also neural networks (NN) have been proposed for mechanical state variables estimation of the drive system with elastic couplings.

Synchrogenverter - parallel connection of synchronous generator and power converter with energy storage
Background: The paper describes novel power generation topology wherein synchronous generator have a parallel connected power electronic converter. In this arrangement synchronous generator is only source of active power...
INVESTIGATION OF HIGH SPEED INDUCTION MOTOR DRIVE OPERATING IN HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES
Background: The paper presents conclusions which are results of research on the use of high-speed drives operating in household appliances. The solutions that use three-phase or two-phase induction motors were taken into...
SIMULATION ANALYSIS OF EXTENDED KALMAN FILTER APPLIED FOR ESTIMATING POSITION AND SPEED OF A BRUSHLESS DC MOTOR
The purpose of the paper is to present a method for estimation of the BLDC motor rotor speed and position. The BLDC motor state equations were developed and the model was discretized. EKF has been designed to observe spe...
Dynamic Performance of Estimator-Based Speed Sensorless Control of Induction Machines using Extended and Unscented Kalman Filters
This paper presents an estimator-based speed sensorless field oriented control (FOC) method for induction machines, where the state estimator is based on a self-contained, non-linear model. This model characterizes both...
DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM FOR INDUCTION MOTOR STATOR WINDING FAULTS BASED ON AXIAL FLUX
The article presents the results of research on the use of an axial flux in the diagnostics of induction motor stator winding fed by a frequency converter. Voltage signal waveforms proportional to the axial flux were reg...
