INVENTORY: DEFINITION, CLASSIFICATION, PRINCIPLES, FUNCTIONS, AND OBJECTIVES

Abstract
In the article, the research of theoretical aspects of the “inventory” definition has been conducted by the means of the analysis of its structural elements: principles, functions, and objectives. The most relevant scientific approaches to the study of the “inventory” concept have been presented. The most important functions and objectives of the inventory have resulted. The critical analysis of existing principles of inventory has been carried out and the following principles for theoretical discussion have been proposed by the author: informational utility, controllability of resources and their sources, administrative feasibility. The criteria for evaluation of the risk of differences between actual and accounting data, affecting the inventory methodology, have been suggested.
