Investigation of the Influence of Managers' Leadership Style on Organizational Health in Eastern Gilan Province Girls'High Schools

Abstract

The main goal of the present research is to investigate the influence of managers' leadership styles on organizational health in Eastern Gilan province girls' high schools. Research methodology was causal-comparative. Statistical population of the present research included all managers and teachers of Eastern Gilan province girls' high schools (9000) people which was comprised of 86 managers and 8914 teachers. Statistical sample was calculated based on Morgan Table to be 386 people which was comprised of 86 managers and 282 teachers. Sampling method was in the form of census for managers and stratified random method for teachers. Data gathering tool included 2 questionnaires: 1. Standard questionnaire of leadership style (Bardenz and Metzkas) which has 35 two-choice questions (Bardenz and Metzkas) which measured two styles of relational and task-oriented, 2. Standard questionnaire of organizational health (OH) (Hoy and Foldman) which had 42 4-choice questions which measured and investigated 7 components: institutional integration, manager's influence, considerateness, structuring, resources support, spirit and scientific emphasis. Descriptive and inference statistical methods were used to analyze data. Multi-variate variance analysis test (MANOVA) was used in inference analysis. Results of SPSS software showed that there is significant relationship between OH and its seven dimensions considering relational and task-oriented leadership styles and that OH in managers who have relational style is more than managers with task-oriented style.
