Investigation of the Levels of Perceived Social Support and Internet and Game Addiction in Gifted Students

Abstract
The aim of this research was to compare the levels of internet and game addiction and perceived social support levels of gifted students who continue to Science and Art Centers according to some socio-demographic variables (gender, age status, weekly internet usage period). The relationship between Internet and Game Addiction Scale scores and perceived Social Support Scale scores were also examined. When the demographic variables are examined in the result of the research, internet and game addiction were found to be differs according to gender, age, weekly internet usage period, internet use purpose. Perceived level of social support differs according to gender and age. There are a signficantly negatives correlations between internet and game addiction scale scores and perceived social support scale scores. The findings of the research was discussed in the light of the literature.
