Isolation and Identification of Antibiotics Susceptible Staph Aureus from Unprocessed Milk
Journal Title: Journal of Clinical and Medical Research - Year 2021, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
Milk is luminous white liquid substance produced by mammary gland. The quality of milk is said to be affected because it is perfect culture medium for the growth of micro-organisms. Staphylococcus aureus is a common microorganism capable of causing diverse pomp of chronic and acute infections. This study was done for the quantitate assessment of the microbial risk of staph aureus in milk in Peshawar. Microbial risk assessment was carried out for unprocessed milk available in market. For bacteriological analyses (n=51) samples were collected from different critical control points i.e., from animal, the utensils and shops. Staph aureus was present in 24 of 51 samples. Which were then tested for antibiotic susceptibility test and further checked with minimal inhibitory concentration for which 5 different concentration of antibiotic was made, considering the cut off value the antibiotic concentrations were two folds higher and tow folds lower. 195ul of antibiotic solution and 5ul of bacterial inoculum was mixed in each well and then incubated for 24 hours. Results shows (86.63%) and (68.18%) strains were showing resistance against Moxifloxacin and Gentamycin respectively, while small number of resistance strain were found against vancomycin, Linezolid and Clindamycin i.e. (14.63%), (18.18%) and (22.72%).
