Isothermal Thermogravimetric Analysis of Recycled Carbon Fiber Composites
Journal Title: Global Journal of Engineering Sciences - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
Isothermal Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) is a technique in which the mass of a substance is monitored as a function of time as the sample specimen is subjected to a controlled temperature program in a controlled atmosphere. In this research, isothermal TGA was carried out to determine the thermal stability of the recycled epoxy-based and vinyl ester-based carbon fiber composite (CFC). The specimens were heated at constant temperature under nitrogen and air. We evaluate the influence of different temperature on the degradation of recycled CFCs. Results indicate that different temperature has significant influence on the degradation of the recycled CFC under nitrogen.

Correlations of Physicomechanical Properties of Quarry Aggregates - The Case of Two Quarries in Ghana
Granite and its derivatives are the dominant rock source of most quarry products (rock aggregates) in Ghana. However, they may differ in term of quality, the mineralogic composition and so forth in their geospatial locat...
Evidence of Electron Charging Induced Alternating Currents in Nanopillar Transistor
Study of electron charging in nanopillar transistor at 300K shows that elastic vibration is an automatic behavior in the device. The frequency observed in the drain-source current is found to agree with the charging freq...
Effect of Lamination Scheme on Buckling Load for Laminated Composite Decks Plates
New numerical results are generated for in – plane compressive biaxial buckling which serve to quantify the effects of lamination scheme on buckling loading. The results indicate that the symmetric laminate is stiffer th...
Health and Environmental Impacts of Nox: An Ultra- Low Level of Nox (Oxides of Nitrogen) Achievable with A New Technology
The damages to human health and environment result because of various compounds and derivatives in the family of nitrogen oxides, including nitrogen dioxide, nitric acid, nitrous oxide, nitrates, and nitric oxide. Nitrog...
Finite Element Analysis and Calculation of Normal Section Bearing Capacity of Steel Tube Bundle Composite Shear Wall
To be a new type of building component, composite shear wall with steel tubes bundle has been widely used in the steel structure housing system as the development of prefabricated construction. In this paper, ABAQUS has...
