ISSUES TOWARD BETTER DEVELOPMENT AND EFFECTIVENESS OF DRUGS MANUFACTURING
Journal Title: WORLD JOURNAL PHARMACY AND PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE - Year 2019, Vol 8, Issue 7
Abstract
Industrial pharmacies play a big role in manufacturing, development and innovation of many successful effective biopharmaceutical products. Traditional green medicines (TGMs) are of undoubted value, as they have been used for centuries to treat various diseases and health disorders in many parts of the world. TGMs are used for converting botanicals materials into medicines. Bioactive compounds currently extracted from plants are used as food additives, dyes, insecticides, cosmetics, perfumes and fine chemicals. Problem in industrial drugs use resulted in bacterial resistance to antibiotics. Similarly, resistance to anticancer drugs still hampers successful treatment of patients now-a-days. The aim of this article is getting better practical and applicable approaches from benefits of TGMs and to provide recommendations that can improve the drugs industry. In this article direct impact of TGMs is well documented. It exhibits a wide range of pharmacological actions including anticancer, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, high antioxidant potential, anti-diabetic and anti-Alzheimer. On the other hand, the indirect impact of TGMs need extensive of research work and investigations, among them are molecular biomarkers, histopathology, biochemical characteristics, and pharmaceutical mode of action of bioactive compounds. Furthermore, questions to be solved include: Is single or multi-herbal medicine initiate specific gene(s) expression? How often and how much of TGMs product (or ingredients) one can use to prevent or to treat a specific disease? Do TGMs products (ingredients) keep specific gene a wake? Is there any gene-green medicines interaction? Or are there any differences in response to TGMs of different genotypes? Therefore, it is suggested that multidisciplinary team (pharmacists, molecular biologist, botanist and pathologists) is required to investigate and explore the impacts of TGMs through local, regional and international scientific as well as industrial institutions?.
