IVAN FRANKO’S MEMOIRS ON PRINCE ROMAN CZARTORYSKI AND WALERIAN KALINKA

Abstract
The author reprints the original text of Ivan Franko, published for the first time in the Sankt-Petersburg Polish daily “Kraj” in 1887, in the own translation into Ukrainian. While actually the distinguished Ukrainian revolutionary made acquaintance and cooperated not just with the Polish socialists but also with the princes and venerable fathers of the Holy Catholic Church, this text of Ivan Franko was known very little; because the subject of his discussions with the distinguished activists of the Polish national movement was neither marksism, nor revolution but Church and nationalism, perspectives on cooperation of the Ukrainians with the Polish conservative establishment of the Austrian Galicia.
