Abstract
The professional and scientific activities of Jan Tomorowicz (1787–1831), an eminent Varsovian physician, the military doctor and the professor of Royal Warsaw University are presented widely. In his textbook “The Military Surgery” he described such otorhinolaryngological diseases and operations in this region as mastoidectomy, operation of sinus maxillaries, paracentesis, removal of foreign bodies of throat and oesophagus, tracheotomy in more detail.
