JUSTIFICATION OF THE PRINCIPLES OF ENTERPRISE COMPETITIVENESS MANAGEMENT

Abstract

Each activity must have a theoretical justification in order to be effective. The main thing there is the presence of principles – rules, fundamental beliefs, views on things, etc. The analysis of existing points of view on the system of the principles applied for managing the enterprise competitiveness has shown that the principles proposed by various authors do not correlate with each other; when presenting the list of principles, the method and attribute(s) used for their definition are not indicat-ed; in a variety of the presented principles it is difficult to single out those that should be used for individual elements of the enterprise competitiveness management. The purpose of the article is to provide justification for the system of the principles applied in managing the competitiveness of both an enterprise as a whole and its constituent elements. To solve this problem, it is proposed to use a differentiated approach that means defining separate principles for each element of the enterprise competitiveness management process. The following elements of the management process are suggested: developing a vision, formulating a mission, setting goals, analyzing the external environment of the enterprise, analyzing the potential of the enterprise, identifying alternatives and problems for the development of the enterprise, establishing a target plan for each strategic business unit (SBU), identifying the competitive advantages of each SBU , designing a strategy and its refining, implementing the strategy, controlling and coordinat-ing the implementation of the strategy, assessing the level of competitiveness. Analysis of the nature of each element of the management process allowed to establish the necessary principles of management for each element and the enterprise as a whole. The principles described in the paper will allow researchers to make effective and high-quality decisions on man-aging the competitiveness of enterprises.
