Kartowanie geomorfologiczne i badania procesów rzeźbotwórczych w służbie gospodarki (z badań Zakładu Geomorfologii i Hydrologii IGiPZ PAN w Krakowie)

Abstract
Artykuł przedstawia historię geomorfologii stosowanej i jej osiągnięcia w środowisku naukowym Zakładu Geomorfologii i Hydrologii Gór i Wyżyn (obecnie Zakładu Badań Geośrodowiska) Instytutu Geografii i Przestrzennego Zagospodarowania PAN. Omówione w artykule prace dotyczą bonitacji form i oceny współczesnych procesów, obejmują przede wszystkim obszar polskich Karpat i Wyżyny Śląsko-Krakowskiej. Odrębnym nurtem prac z geomorfologii stosowanej były badania w klimacie monsunowym prowadzone w Himalajach i na ich przedpolu modelowanym, gdzie często występowały intensywne opady.
