Abstract
Wieluń land (ziemia wieluńska) gave the existence to many good citizens who played the significant role in the expansion of the region as well as Poland. To the circle of these people a priest Roman Kmiecik should certainly be included. He was born in 1889 in Mieleszyn and attended the junior secondary school in Kalisz, where he participated in the school strike. La- ter he joined a seminary in Włocławek. After being ordained he worked as the assistant curate in Rzgów, Pabianice, Koło and also in Radomsko where also performed functions of school prefect. In Radomsko he joined in the editing of the local newspaper. Later he became a parish priest in Dobra and Tuliszków. He gave up being a diocesan priest and joined the congregation of Filipins where he was up to 1945. After the war he became an assistant curate in Stawiszyn, where he died in 1946. He was burried on the local graveyard. He was an indefatigable worker for voluntary causes as well as being a dedicated publisher. Thanks to his work and his commit- ment two calendars came out into existence: „For Dobra” and „For Tuliszków”
