Abstract
In this study, it has been dealt with the conseptual idea of God and its historical as well as philosophical background. In the section that is related to philosophy, the idea of God is thought to hawe identifical general framework of the consept of God in philosophy. In sociology, on the other hand, we refer to history for certain references. In order to define the developing stage of the age we are living in. We transform history to an object of information by converting it to somewhat a speculative structure. God in sociology, however, is reconstructed in different forms and images within the scientific structure of this speculative realm. Anthropologists and historians of religions contribute to this reconstruction process by producing religious images/motives (fetish, totems and mana etc). This fundamen-tal difference in these two disciplines takes shape at the separation point of traditional and modern thoughts.
