Abstract

In this monograph we will deal with the process of Christianization that occurred in Japan during the Modern Age or in what has traditionally been called the Christian century, and which in Japanese historiography covers from the end of the Sengoku period to the beginning of the Edo period. For this, we will covered various aspects, such the propagation, assimilation and analyzing its subsequent crisis through politics, international relations, society, and religion itself. In fact, we will also try to discern the factors by which the evangelizing company resulted in failure.
