La Cruz de Caravaca: Historia e Importancia en el devenir de la ciudad

Abstract
En el presente artículo realizaremos un estudio alrededor de la importancia que poseerá la Reliquia de la Vera Cruz de Caravaca, fragmento del Lignum Crucis, en el desarrollo de la ciudad de Caravaca de la Cruz. El punto de partida será el análisis de su leyenda, cómo y cuándo nace, así como cuándo se implanta. Posteriormente iremos detallando acontecimientos, eventos y elementos asociados a la citada urbe del noroeste murciano, que son consecuencia directa de albergar en su interior a la misteriosa reliquia hasta el robo de la misma en 1934. Por tanto, nos centramos principalmente en los siglos medievales y el siglo XVI, momento en el que quedan establecidas las bases finales de los elementos que caracterizarán y en gran parte caracterizan a Caravaca.
