Abstract
The increasing industrial development immersed in the globalization process has affected directly in increased consumption and release of waste products that are not properly handled, leading to higher levels of pollution and ecosystem deterioration. Environmental education is an issue of global concern as an indisputable strategy to reduce the human impact of the population to the existing environmental problems. stages of environmental education model in which activities/actions included socialization and generic and disciplinary skills. Teacher-student participation in the design and development of models related to the learning units The works were socialized in the I Academic Scientific Meeting Agroambiental to the university community and students from local educational institutions in the city of Santo Domingo of the Tsáchilas. It was determined that the active participation of students in practical activities involves the analysis of environmental problems, and integration promotes leadership and teamwork, facilitates socialization, generates new culture and environmental ethical responsibility. The results lead to externalize the need to include academic programs active student participation in conservation and ecosystem protection.
