Journal Title: Здоров`я дитини - Year 2015, Vol 5, Issue 65
Abstract
Introduction. One of the urgent problems of modern pediatrics is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of gastroduodenal pathology in children. Objective: to assess the state of microbiota and intestinal motility in children with disorders of the upper digestive tract using lactulose hydrogen breath test and to carry out correction of changes. Materials and methods. The study involved 80 children aged 6 to 17 years. In all patients, we have used general clinical research methods, fibroesophagogastroduodenoscopy, verification of Helicobacter pylori, lactulose hydrogen breath test. Results of the study. Most children with gastroduodenal pathology had abnormal bowel changes according to lactulose hydrogen breath test in terms of microbiocenosis and motility disorders, which in some way dependent on the nature of pathological gastroduodenal changes (inflammation, reflux or both). In patients receiving probiotic Laktiale within 1 month, there was normalization in colonization of the large intestine by anaerobic bacteria according to lactulose hydrogen breath test in 70.0–84.7 % of surveyed patients. Conclusions. The use of lactulose hydrogen breath test indicates the possibility of improving treatment and preventive measures in children with gastroduodenal pathology. Probiotic Laktiale is an effective drug that helps normalize intestinal flora.
