Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the legal procedure for the use of forest resources in Ukraine. The main categories of forest resources, the rules for harvesting and cutting timber are given. The shortcomings of environmental and tax legislation that promote the dissemination and reproduction of illegal logging are investigated.
