LEGAL PROTECTION OF A CHILD FROM DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN UKRAINE: CURRENT TENDENCIES

Abstract
The article deals with domestic violence against children in Ukraine at the present stage. The author explains the nature and consequences of domestic violence against children. The official statistics are also provided on the number of children affected by violence or abuse in Ukraine in 2010–2016. The author analyzes the current problems and achievements of Ukraine regarding the implementation of international legal standards in the sphere of children protection from domestic violence. Particular attention is paid to the recently submitted Ukraine national report to Geneva in the framework of the third cycle of The Universal Periodic Review of the UN Human Rights Council. The author prepares a detailed conclusions and suggestions about this topic the studied. The author states that for the fullest implementation of international standards of the children protection from domestic violence and the solution of this problem in Ukraine, it is necessary to bring national legislation in conformity with international standards. It is necessary also to set up the work in this sphere, and to distribute clearly authority of employees and conduct their specialized training. The author proves that the solution to the problem of domestic violence against children must necessarily be complex, as the problem has many aspects, such as legal, social, psychological, pedagogical, medical and other aspects. There fore, the author concluded that this problem should be solved on certain levels of implementation of international legal standards (legislative, law enforcement, public, psychological and pedagogical level).
