LES TRANSFORMATIONS CONTEMPORAINES DES LITS DES RIVIÈRES CARPATIQUES SOUS LA PRESSION ANTHROPIQUE
Journal Title: FOLIA GEOGRAPHICA - Year 2015, Vol 57, Issue 1
Abstract
There were observed considerable changes in the structure of river bed systems in the Polish Carpathians, due to the antropogenic impact. Erosion is a process that is playing an increasingly important role. It causes in particular the channeling of the river system. Large beds rivers, such as Dunajec, Wisłoka, Raba have been deepened from 2 to 4 meters during the last thirty or forty years as a result of regressive erosion. The deepening of river beds also occurs in the lateral valleys. Such a situation leads to negative changes in the natural Valleys, which is linked to the excessive drying up of many areas.
