LEXICAL SEMANTIC GROUP “FACIAL HAIR” IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE (MOTIVATIONAL ASPECT)

Abstract
The article is dedicated to the study of the motivational aspect of the English lexical semantic group “facial hair”. The final aim of the work is to determine motivational types of the nominative units which constitute the given group. The volume of investigated material is 55 lexical units obtained by consecutive selection. Two types of motivation of the investigated nominative units have been studied, namely, qualificative and relative which are based on the form of a certain facial hair type or its contiguity with a famous person or group of people. Metaphoric patterns of nomination have also been viewed in the article.
