LICORICE (GLYCYRRHIZA L.) AS MORE THAN A MEDICINAL PLANT: APPLICATIONS, ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES ASSOCIATED WITH IT, AND EFFECTIVE PROPAGATION TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract
This article examines the significance, applications, and cultivation methods of licorice plants (Glycyrrhiza) within Uzbekistan. Emphasis is placed on the plant’s broad utilization across various industrial sectors, its medicinal efficacy, and its role in national agriculture. Given the decline in natural licorice resources, the article underscores the importance of expanding cultivation, highlights its relevance in land reclamation, and examines its capacity to thrive in saline soils. Additionally, the article provides insights into newly developed propagation techniques tailored for licorice cultivation in Uzbekistan, demonstrating their effectiveness.
