LIGHT DEPENDENT CHANGES IN PEROXIDASE ACTIVITY AND PEROXIDE HYDROGEN GENERATION IN THE WHEAT SEEDLINGS
Journal Title: Журнал ÑтреÑÑ-физиологии и биохимии - Year 2011, Vol 7, Issue 1
Abstract
Participation of light in modification of peroxidase enzymatic system activity and peroxide hydrogen generation in the wheat seedlings shoot and root endocellular compartment is revealed. It is shown that in elevated parts of seedlings light activates oxidase peroxidase function and causes peroxide hydrogen accumulation (oxidative burst); in roots – light induces equivalent changes of both enzymatic functions, without causing change of ROS level.

Mitigating effects of salicylic acid against herbicidal stress
Background, the context and purpose of the study: Pendimethalin [N-(1-ethyl propyl)-2, 6-dinitro-3, 4 xylidine] is one of the most commonly used herbicides. It induces harmful effect on non-target plants besides controll...
Skapt et Burkh. Установлено, что активность внеклеточных пероксидаз устойчивог...
Toxicity Concerns of Semiconducting Nanostructures on Aquatic Plant Hydrilla verticillata
In this article, we have examined toxicity of nanostructures such as flower-like ZnO capped with starch, spherical uncapped ZnO and spherical CdS on aquatic plant Hydrilla verticillata, which has not done before. Hydrill...

Activation of Cell Death in the Sugar Cane Suspension Culture by the Exposure to High Temperature
The process of cell death in a sugar cane suspension culture after exposure to high temperature (45, 50, 55 and 60 °C) during 10 min has been studied. It has been revealed that treatment of cell culture at 50 °C did not...
