Light Weight Bricks Using Waste EPS Beads
Journal Title: International Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology (IJRASET) - Year 2017, Vol 5, Issue 6
Abstract
Demand of construction materials is increasing day by day, Technology has improved a lot in construction techniques of structures. Earlier structures were constructed with heavy materials, but in present time of construction light weight materials like AAC blocks, hollow blocks, and light weight wall panels are also used to decrease the dead load of a building. The EPS beads are the lightweight material which is mixed in a mixture of cement, fly ash, sand and water to develop light weight blocks and bricks. This Experimental work intended to investigate mechanical properties of lightweight bricks and compare its functions with conventional bricks. EPS Geofoam is a light substance that has been utilized in construction applications since last few decades. EPS has good thermal insulation properties with stiffness and compression strength comparable to medium clay. In, this experimental investigation effort is made to develop light weight brick by combining EPS beads with cement fly-ash and sand.

Performance of Axially Loaded Pile Group in Oil Contaminated Kanhan Sand
The ground is being contaminated by petrochemical activities, oil spills, and pipeline or reservoir leakage everyday. This contamination has been proven to alter the geotechnical properties of soil, and researchers have...
Bathymetry Mapping and morphometric characteristics demarcation of Lake Manasbal, Kashmir valley, India using Echo Sounder and Geospatial Technology
Bathymetry is a key element of surface water body, which includes the shape, area, volume and depth (N.Khare, et al., 2008 and N.Basos, et al., 2014). Bathymetry survey are maps that can be used to describe the lakes ph...
Energy Efficient Wireless Sensor Network Using Cooperative Communication
A network like sensor networks have energy constrained devices. The energy consumed by the nodes need to be less which prevents the earlier death of the sensor nodes due to drained energy level. Several techniques, meth...
Feasibility of Pipe Distribution Network (PDN) over Canal Distribution Network (CDN) For Irrigation
Water, which is a valuable, finite, renewable and shared resource required by various sectors, must be managed optimally. Stress due to scarcity of water is growing at an alarming rate. To reduce this stresses and to me...
Tapped Inductor Quasi-Z-source Inverter With High Inversion Gain
This paper proposes a high inversion gain single stage boost inverter, which introduces a tapped inductor network into the traditional quasi-Z-source inverter (qZSI), called tapped inductor quasi-Z-source inverter (TL-q...
