Abstract
Limitations in the physical activity of the Baltic Sea Region seniors in the context of furniture design. There is much attention paid to the problem of ageing populations. Thus, one can observe an increasing interest in the subject of the design for the elderly. An important aspect to be taken into account in the design of furniture is the users' limitations associated with the age-related deterioration of health and their general condition and physical activity. This article analyses statistical data on seniors living in the countries of the Baltic Sea Region. It shows the scale of the problem in relation to the specific needs of the elderly. The inclusion of this data in the process of creating new products will enable furniture manufacturers to open up to a new, very large group of customers.
