LINEAR OBJECT'S POINT-CLOUDS OBTAINED FOR HORIZONTAL SHOOTING DIRECTIONS: QUANTIFYING ITS METRIC AND DENSITY QUALITY AS A FUNCTION OF OBJECT'S INCLINATION ANGLE
Journal Title: Journal of Industrial Design and Engineering Graphics - Year 2015, Vol 10, Issue 2
Abstract
This paper investigates characteristics of metric and density quality of linear object's point-clouds (obtained for horizontal shooting directions) as a function of its inclination angle (measured from horizontal plane). Conclusion is that for a fixed focal length, horizontal shooting directions targeting center of object`s axes, 24 station-points uniformly radially distributed around it, Object's Photo-Coverage-Mean of 2.05%, and process-quality descriptors values that belong to recommended ranges, concerning metric quality, generated Clouds are more precise but less accurate and almost not prone to object’s inclination; density quality of these Clouds is characterized by precision and accuracy - slightly dependent on object's inclination: the lower the inclination angle, the higher the precision and accuracy; additionally, the lower the inclination, the lower the density.

METHODS FOR REPRESENTING THE TUBING OF VENTILATION/AIR-CONDITIONING PLANTS
The representation of ventilation or air conditioning plants, particularly of the tubing, specifically require the ability to "see into space" or, more completely expressed, to make the connection between the plane and t...
AGRICULTURAL FIELD IRRIGATION SOLUTION BASED ON VENTURI NOZZLE MODEL
There are situations when the agricultural field irrigation requires water retrieved from the medium or deep groundwater reserves. For this solution submersible pumps are needed in order to take over the water from a cer...

VARIATIONS OF CONCAVE PYRAMIDS OF SECOND SORT WITH AN EVEN NUMBER OF BASE SIDES
Concave pyramids of second sort (CP II) are formed similarly to concave cupolae of second sort (CC II) with a comparable logic of emergence to the regular-faced convex pyramids. They are formed by enclosing the space ove...
A FORM ANALYSIS OF JAPANESE PEDESTRIAN DECKS AND EUROPEAN PLAZAS
This study compares Japanese pedestrian decks and European plazas as public pedestrian spaces. The characteristics of both types of spaces will be clarified through a schematic analysis. The connections of these spaces w...
