Linguistic and sociocultural features of the English maritime discourse

Abstract
The given article deals with the investigation of the English maritime discourse and its sociocultural features. The definitions of the concepts “discourse”, “maritime discourse” are analyzed. The types of maritime discourse (instructions, labor contracts, conventions, memorandum, business letters, ship documentation) are considered. The analysis of lexical, grammar, sociocultural features of the English Maritime discourse has been carried out. The most frequent cases have been singled out. The examples of the above-mentioned phenomena have been presented.
