Literature Review of Siddha Medicines for the Treatment of Puttrunoi (Cancer) - A Review

Abstract
In siddha system of medicine, Siddhars named cancer as ‘Puttrunoi’. It is also called as vippuruthi, thurmaangisam, raja pilavai. Incidence of this disease is increasing day by day due to life style modification. Cancer is the proliferation of abnormal cells anywhere in the body. There were over 200 types of cancer in the world. Anything that may cause a normal cell to develop abnormally potential cell can cause cancer. This review article encloses some precious internal and external medicines for cancer which was mentioned in our classical texts.
