LITERATURE REVIEW ON ABNORMAL UTERINE BLEEDING AND ITS AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT

Abstract

In presents state large number of women from reproductive age suffers from Abnormal uterine bleeding(AUB). The normal period of menstruation is start at the age of 12 to 14 years, and persist through out reproductive life. Total loss of blood is 50-60 ml with an average of 35 ml change in normal volume. Abnormal uterine bleeding is excessive for which organic causes or pelvic pathology cannot be found. In modern medicine several drugs are available for its management. Many gynaecologist are concerned about unwanted side effect of these drug. Ayurveda is the systemic oldest medical practice. For the management of abnormal uterine bleeding various herbal, polyherbal, mineral and herbo minerals drugs has been suggested in Ayurveda.
