Liverworts of the Terebowiec stream valley in the Western Bieszczady Mts. (Polish Eastern Carpathians)

Abstract

In the years 1991–1993 hepaticological investigation was carried out in the Terebowiec stream valley in the Western Bieszczady Mts. As a result, 57 species and one subspecies of liverworts were found. Including literature data, the whole hepaticoflora comprises 59 species and one subspecies. They belong to 20 families and 30 genera. Of these, 3 taxa of liverwort, namely Jamesoniella autumnalis, Marchantia polymorpha subsp. montivagans and Scapania helvetica, are new to the Western Bieszczady Mts., 2 liverworts are protected by law in Poland and 7 are threatened in Poland.
