Abstract
Leczenie osteoporozy pochłania w USA rocznie 10 mld dolarów, a w Wielkiej Brytanii 1,4 mld. Szacuje się, że w krajach Unii Europejskiej złamanie kości, będące efektem osteoporozy następuje co 30 sekund. Koszty jej leczenia w ciągu ostatnich 3 lat wzrosły o 33 proc., a pacjenci z osteoporozą zajmują w krajach starej Piętnastki ponad pół mln łóżek.
