Low back pain. Part III; anatomical and biomechanical bases of kinesiotherapy

Journal Title: Archives of Physiotherapy and Global Researches - Year 2018, Vol 22, Issue 1

Abstract

The maintenance of lumbar spine stability is essential for preventing low back pain. This stability depends on the efficiency of many muscles. The maintenance of muscular balance relies on proper cooperation between the phasic and the tonic muscles. Dysfunction of the muscles stabilising the spine can lead to lumbar hyperlordosis, which is its most common deformity. The condition is also affected by prolonged sitting and obesity, particularly abdominal obesity.
