Macrophage migration inhibitory factor and acute myocardial infarction
Journal Title: Український терапевтичний журнал - Year 2018, Vol 0, Issue 3
Abstract
Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) is a pleiotropic proinflammatory cytokine involved in the development of many acute and chronic inflammatory diseases, including cardiovascular diseases. A link between MIF and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) has been established. At the same time, iyis still unknown how early circulating levels of MIF correlate with the onset and size of myocardial infarction. The review provides an analysis of data from recent clinical and experimental researches on the significance of MIF in the pathogenesis of AMI.
