Mafic dykes of Ingul megablock (Ukrainian Shield): relationship of surface and deep structures of the lithosphere, fault tectonics and geodynamics
Journal Title: Геофизический журнал - Year 2016, Vol 38, Issue 5
Abstract
Morphology, structure position, formation and dyke saturation of the swarms were ascertained. New dyke swarms of "second range" were established. Intersection areas of the dyke swarms "traces" were defined. They are considered as the magmatic focuses at the different lithosphere depths, which are connected with cells of the repeatedly activated plume. Analysis of the Earth crust deep structure and peculiarities of mantle heterogeneities in the proposed magmatic focuses of dykes permitted us to conclude, that they are associated with pulsing mantle plume. Under its influence melted mantle material moved forward from greater depths in the east to smaller one in the west. It found the escape as dykes in the north-western faults but Golovanevsk suture zone limited further extension of material.

From new geological paradigm to the problems of regional geological-geophysical survey
Analysis of the latest scientific achievements in different areas of geological and geophysical research showed that investigation of deep Earth degassing from its core up to the surface and atmosphere acquires status of...
A thermobaric mechanism for the formation of low velocity zones in the crystalline crust of the northwestern Black Sea shelf: a new type of traps for abiogenic methane
Seismic studies of the NW Black Sea shelf have delineated low-velocity zones (LVZs) in the crystalline crust at depths of 6—16 km. For the first time, this paper presents a novel thermodynamic mechanism for their formati...
About degassing of the Earth
Degassing of the Earth has attracted great attention of geologists in recent years. The range of opinions on various aspects of the problem is very large. Some of them from the author’s point of view is based on unreason...
Spectral-temporal analysis of long-period climatic series, the core of the Greenland borehole as an example
Spectral-temporal analysis of harmonics of restored series of air and temperature in the cent¬ral part of Greenland has revealed two periods with the maximal values of energy of the spect¬rum. It has been shown that the...
Probabilistic seismic hazard analysis of Moldova and adjacent territories
A new approach to seismic hazard assessment is proposed. It means that in a certain location of the Earth’s surface during the time t will occurs a certain number n of shakes and m of them with intensity Ik. The algorith...
