Magnetic field interpretation using singular value decomposition method based on correlation coefficient of eigenimages
Journal Title: Journal of Biodiversity and Environmental Sciences (JBES) - Year 2016, Vol 9, Issue 1
Abstract
Magnetic investigations can yield important information about geological structures. Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) is a very powerful tool for analysis of the geophysical data set chiefly potential fields. In this paper, a new technique for demonstration of near-subsurface features with short wavelength using magnetic eigenvectors and eigenimage is proposed which separate the residual anomalies from magnetic map background (total magnetic field). Also, is exhibited a new method based on correlation coefficient between eigenimages for threshold determination. Using the SVD, a matrix of magnetic data set can be decomposed to a series of eigenimages. Finally, the SVD method eventuate two layers of singular value images that the layer reconstructed of threshold value to last eigenimages show local magnetic anomalies. The results obtained from the synthetic data set, with and without random noise, have been discussed. The method is demonstrated on real magnetic data set surveyed from Iran. The results show the good performance of the proposed method.

Generation mean analysis to estimate genetic parameters for morphological traits in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)
Six generation (P1, P2, F1, F2, BC1 and BC2) derived from two crosses ((A.1007 × DER.) and (GOLI × D81)) of common bean were grown in a randomized complete block design with three replication in 2010 at research field...
Population assessment of Himalayan lynx (Lynx lynx isabellinus) and conflict with humans in the hindu kush mountain range of District Chitral, Pakistan
This paper is the first-ever attempt to outline the interaction of Himalayan lynx (Lynx lynx isabellinus) with humans and its abundance measured through motion triggered camera traps in Hindu Kush Mountain Range of Dis...
Effect of a stepwise cycling on insulin resistance and CRP in adult males with type II diabetic
Recent studies have shown that type II diabetic is associated with systemic inflammation. This study was aimed to determine the effect of a single stepwise cycling on serum C-reactive protein and insulin resistance in t...
Palynostratigraphy and palynofacies of the sanganeh formation in Qarah-Su section (NE, Iran)
Palynomrphs extracted from rock samples of the Sanganeh Formation cropping out in the central Kopeh-Dagh Basin indicate a late Aptian-early Albian age for the formation. Eighty samples recovered from the shale and marl...
